JULY AND AUGUST

JULY AND AUGUST
With the passing of July 4th, we enter into the second half of summer. Soon we will be thinking County Fairs, Parish Festivals, more Fairs, and the beginning of a new school year.
I urge all our families to take time to pray together – at the kitchen table or the picnic table. Families that pray together stay together. I urge families (No. 2) to attend Mass together, every week. If we go only when it’ convenient, where is the sacrifice, where is the example? (No. 3) Be generous with those in need and with your Sunday Envelope. Every year our weekly or monthly donation should increase by 3 – 5 %. It’s a sacrifice, given back to God who has given us all that we have. (4) be part of the parish by volunteering for the parish festival, or some other work within the parish: such as religious education, CCW, COF, KCs, CAA, Ushers, readers, singers, etc. Whatever talent you have, the parish can find a place of honor for you. (5) Families are urged to support their children in school and in religious education. Be highly involved.
August 24th, I will have a new left knee put in. Fr. Gross will fill in for me while I go through this happy time of recovery. Help Fr. Dick in every way and make things easier for him. It is my plan to be back to work within five or six weeks of surgery. Your prayers are always appreciate.
Fr. Jack Brunner
